Frequently asked questions
What does iCheckup check?
iCheckup guides a used-iPhone inspection across device identity, display, cameras, audio, sensors, battery, connectivity, security, and report details. Automatic results use public iOS APIs where available.
Can iCheckup certify that a part is genuine?
No. iCheckup does not claim Apple certification, Apple internal diagnostics, or genuine-part verification. Items that iOS does not expose through public APIs are marked as not verifiable by the app.
Why are some checks marked not verifiable?
Some details, such as Parts and Service History, Activation Lock, Find My status, visible cracks, water damage, and battery service history, are not available to third-party apps through public iOS APIs. iCheckup labels those limits clearly instead of pretending to verify them.
Where are my reports stored?
Reports and checkup sessions are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to a Crafter Apps server. A report leaves your device only if you choose to share it.
Why does iCheckup ask for camera or microphone access?
Camera access is needed for camera checks, and microphone access is needed for microphone input checks. iCheckup asks only when those checks start and explains the reason before the system permission prompt.
What does iCheckup Pro unlock?
iCheckup Pro is planned as a lifetime purchase for durable proof features, including local PDF export and completed report history. The free checkup still shows diagnostic warnings, failures, unavailable evidence, and the core report.
How do I restore iCheckup Pro?
When iCheckup Pro is available, purchases will be linked to your Apple ID through the App Store. Use the restore purchase action in the app on any device signed in with the same Apple ID.
