Privacy Policy
iCheckup is designed as a local-first used-iPhone inspection app. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.
No tracking or advertising
iCheckup does not include advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, cookies, or third-party tracking SDKs. I do not track you across apps or websites, and I do not sell your personal information.
Information used by the app
iCheckup may use public device information, checkup results, report details, and app settings to run guided inspections and create local reports. This can include public device identity, iOS version, supported hardware capabilities, battery state, network reachability, camera availability, microphone input checks, speaker test status, motion sensor checks, and report notes you choose to add.
Permissions
Camera and microphone access are requested only when you start checks that need them. iCheckup explains why access is needed before showing the system permission prompt. The app does not request permission on launch.
Local storage
Checkup sessions, completed reports, and app settings are stored locally on your device. They may be included in your Apple-managed device backup if you use iCloud Backup, but iCheckup does not run its own cloud sync, account system, or backend report hosting.
Sharing
Reports stay on your device unless you explicitly choose to share them through iOS sharing features. Shared reports may include the checkup summary, timestamp, device details, evidence labels, and any notes you choose to include.
Purchases
iCheckup may offer iCheckup Pro as a lifetime in-app purchase. Purchases and purchase restoration are handled by Apple through StoreKit and your Apple ID. I do not receive your full payment details.
Information I do not collect
- Precise location
- Contacts, photos, health data, or browsing history
- Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data
- Hidden uploads of reports, recordings, photos, or device data
- Apple Account, Find My, Activation Lock, or Settings data that public iOS APIs do not expose
Support email
If you contact support, your email address and message are used only to respond to your request.
Children's privacy
iCheckup is not intended for children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
