Frequently Asked Questions
What is AutoTranslate for?
AutoTranslate helps Apple developers batch translate app strings on Mac and export Xcode String Catalog JSON for localization workflows.
How do I use it?
Paste your source strings, select the target languages you need, create translations, then export the generated JSON file for Xcode.
What is included for free?
The free plan supports up to 10 non-empty strings and 2 target languages per export. AutoTranslate Pro Lifetime unlocks unlimited strings and all target languages with a one-time purchase.
How do I restore AutoTranslate Pro?
Open the Pro sheet in the app and use Restore Purchases. Purchases and refunds are managed by Apple through your Apple Account.
Does AutoTranslate replace human review?
No. It creates draft translations. Review generated strings before shipping them, especially product names, legal copy, screenshots, and App Store metadata.
Where are my localization files stored?
Exports stay where you choose to save them on your Mac. AutoTranslate does not upload your app strings to Crafter Apps servers.
Why did a translation fail?
Apple Translation framework language support can vary by language and system availability. Make sure your Mac is running macOS 15.0 or later and that the selected language is available on your system.
Does the app need an account?
No. AutoTranslate is designed as a focused macOS utility and does not require a Crafter Apps account.
What should I include in a support email?
Include your macOS version, selected target languages, whether you are using the free plan or Pro, and the exact issue you saw. Avoid sending private project strings unless needed.
